Description
Our Wooden Ark Hammock stands are made in our factory in India by our skilled craftsmen. They are made of solid Mango Wood. We bend strips of wood and combine them in a special mould , thus the grain of the wood runs through the frame. This creates an incredibly strong product suitable for outdoor use.
Mango Wood is a strong hardwood with properties suitable for outdoor use. It has a golden brown colour with rich veins of black , yellow or even purple showing off it’s natural characteristics.
The Mango Wood is pre-treated with friendly insecticides and fungicides before manufacturing .
The Wooden Ark Hammock Stand is finished with a lacquer to preserve it and is ready for use out of the box; no need to oil and lacquer before use. The finish is what you would expect of new furniture. Note that most of our competitors offer raw wood products for you to finish yourselves.
Any wooden furniture which is left outside will require some maintenance; perhaps once per year. This is to replace the natural oils near the surface which limit the absorption of water. See wood maintenance
The Wooden Ark Hammock Stand will accommodate our Large Hammocks and our Extra Large Hammocks (with or without spreader bars).
Our hammocks are woven in India by artisans who have a lifetime of experience in weaving on power looms creating soft but strong, colourful fabrics. There is a wide range of colours and designs available and our new designs for 2024 are right on trend. Our hammock makers use their machine sewing and rope knotting skills to create hammocks of a high standard. Sundeyz Hammocks fabrics are woven from yarns spun from recycled cotton mixed with some staple polyester to make soft but strong fabrics.
The hammock fabrics are made from dyed yarns. The ropes and hanging knots in our hammocks are made from the same yarns; some are dyed and some not.
Of course colour fastness is important and all of our fabrics are subjected to independent laboratory tests for strength and fastness.

- Sundeyz Products are finished furniture which do not look out of place inside a house. The wood is properly treated with certified non-harmful preservatives and has a lacquer coating that you would expect with indoor furniture. It is ready to use right out of the box. No need to buy oils and lacquers to apply yourself before use. Similar products from elsewhere are often raw wood which has been dipped in preservative with a green colour.
- In the UK there are laws about fire resistance of furniture which can be placed in an indoor setting or an outdoor setting. Sundeyz products comply with these laws whereas products we have seen from Germany and Poland do not because their laws are different. They are technically illegal. All of Sundeyz products have been subjected to stringent independent laboratory tests for fire resistance as well as for chemicals , strength and stability.
